A task - an aim
Charles Fessel and Helmut Stranzinger know, that together, they are able to outperform. They proved it at Pragelato, a piedmontese mountain village. It was the largest single order in the company history of Haas Fertigbau, given by Fessel. With Charles Fessel as project manager, HAAS Fertigbau constructed the biggest hotel complex in the Italian Alps: Within 15 months’, 87 houses with 205 living units, two restaurants, bars, a Wellness Centre and a Children’s Club were built.
Looking for a cinema or a tavern? They had it! There were times when up to 120 HAAS employees were simultaneously working at the building site. To build a special class hotel not only implies extensive know-how, but also an extreme capacity of endurance to all participants. There were mountains of snow and a cold right down to minus 24 degrees freezing everything, hands, feet and the whole body. The wheels of all the cars and trucks became stuck in the sodden, muddy ground. Discussions were not always calm and peaceful. But it’s these extreme conditions that make individuals become a team. Business partners become friends and an employer and a customer join together to create a prospective enterprise: HAAS Hotels & Resorts.

Charles Fessel had a dream …
… of a cable-car, connecting Pragelato to Sestriere. At the hotel opening it was ready for service. It takes only a few minutes ride in a gondola for the guests of the Pragelato Village Resorts to arrive right in the middle of the skiing paradise of Sestriere. A paradise totaling 466 kilometers of ski runs!
